Nearest neighbors methods are becoming increasingly popular in the field of natural resources, with special regards to forest applications. Experiences in the use of these methods range from imputation of single tree characteristics to regional scale multi-source forest attribute mapping.
Following the results achieved with the first Nearest Neighbors workshop (held in Minneapolis, USA, from 28 to 30 of August 2006) the goal of the 2007 Nearest Neighbors Workshop is to continue in sharing current applications and research findings and in doing so, foster new partnerships and ideas. The workshop will include presentations from researchers from around the globe.
